Whitening Treatments

"Tell me, I'll forget, Show me, I may remember, But involve me and I'll understand"
    -Chinese Proverb

Tooth whitening (or bleaching) is a simple, non-invasive dental treatment used to change the color of natural tooth enamel and is an ideal way to enhance the beauty of your smile.

Because having whiter teeth has now become the number one aesthetic concern of most patients, there are a number of ways to whiten teeth.  The most popular method is using a home tooth whitening system that will whiten teeth dramatically.  Since tooth whitening only works on natural tooth enamel, it is important to evaluate replacement of any old fillings, crowns, etc.  Replacement of any restorations will be done after bleaching so they will match the newly bleached teeth.

Tooth whitening is not permanent.  A touch-up maybe needed every several years, and more often if you smoke, drink coffee, tea, or wine.

Now you can brighten your smile with our powerful whitening treatments that lighten discoloration caused by coffee, cigarettes, medication, or aging. We offer both in office and take home treatments.

Whitening does not weaken the tooth or enamel, it does not make your teeth more prone to future problems such as tooth decay. Using the latest in Whitening technology, we can offer you a safe method for creating a beautiful, "brilliant" smile. In cases of extreme tooth discoloration, bridges, crowns or veneers may be the only choice.

Key Benefits
  • Corrects brown, yellow and mottled tooth staining
  • Works on people of all ages.
  • A near permanent solution for a "dull" smile, restoring brillance and bringing a smile alive.
How is it done?

Custom made trays while you wait! An impression is taken to make a specialized "mouthguard" or "stent" to hold the whitening agent against the teeth.

The material is used each night for about 3-4 hours for a week or two, after which significant whitening will occur. In some cases, the change is nothing short of brilliant. For confidence in appearance, Whitening technology offers improvements in yellowing, aging or stained teeth. For very severely stained teeth, crowns or veneers may be more appropriate. Other Considerations

Over-the-counter whitening agents are available at drug stores and pharmacies. However, since these products can harm the gums and teeth, it’s better to use products that our practice recommends.

The new whiteness of your teeth is semi-permanent - just as your natural teeth darken as time progresses, so will your bright new smile darken as time goes on. However, it may take up to a year or more for you to notice a difference. Generally your teeth will always be whiter than if you had not bleached your teeth.

You'll notice the difference immediately and so will everyone else. You can be custom fitted for whitening trays quickly and easily in your initial visit, then begin treatments in your home until your teeth are as bright as you want. Whitening really does work at making you more attractive.

Britesmile is another alternative for whitening. It is a fast and effective way to whiten your smile when time is what you don't have. There are hundreds of thousands of patients nationwide that swear by it. It has a 98% satisfaction rate.

Britesmile has been clinically proven to whiten teeth by an average of 9.3 shades in just one hour. With proper care, your Britesmile treatment can last for years. Also, Britesmile offers a full line of maintenance products designed to help keep your smile as white as it can be.
